Tony Ferguson - 2D / 3D Photography Technology Workshops
One Day Photography Workshop with Tony
Photo Shoot & Basic Image Editing for Artists:
In this one day Photography Workshop, participants will leave with the ability
to document work with continuous lighting, setup professional backgrounds and
lighting, and understand various camera settings with either digital or film
based cameras. This workshop will emphasize the digital media and cover the
techniques necessary for creating prints, slides, and digital images for such
applications as juried exhibitions, zapplication, art fairs, documentation,
grant applications, catalogues and the web.
The first part of the workshop will be a photo shoot of participants artwork
while the second part of the workshop Tony will give a slide show covering
related issues and demonstrate editing techniques on participant's work in
Photoshop. Tony will also discuss some of the commercial products available for
professionally photographing your artwork and will have available a lighting
setup specifically for 3D as well as 2D artists. Note: Participants are welcome
to bring one art work (less than 24” in height in either direction). If the host
or participants would like to arrange to schedule more pictures taken of their
artwork where they would receive their images on disk after their appointment,
please contact Tony for a post workshop photo shoot.

Day Photography Workshop -
Photo Shoot, Image Editing, Web Sites & Marketing for
The first day is entirely like the one day workshop with the exception of
participants bringing more work for the photo shoot (up to 4 pieces). Day 2
involves answering the question: once you have the professional image, what do
you do with it? Day 2 entails basic to advanced image editing techniques using
PhotoShop Elements where Tony demonstrates everything and more of what you need
to know to prepare your images (Tony will use the images of participants' work
from day 2) for all applications: juried art exhibitions including an overview
of zapplication (web access preferred), publications, preparing & optimizing
images for the web, grants proposals, etc.
The second part of Day 2 will involve taking the images from the photo shoot and
demonstrating the building of a basic website. This part of the workshop will
give participants a rudimentary idea of how to setup and maintain their own
website if they wish and the knowledge to make better business decisions
regarding either their building or the hiring of a web designer to build their
site. Tony will cover a variety of organizational, layout and design issues as
he builds a group site before your eyes.
Please note: If the host or participants would like to
arrange to schedule more pictures taken of their artwork where they would
receive their images on disk after their appointment, please contact Tony for a
post workshop photo shoot.
