In order to ensure the interests of the international ceramic artists and the quality of ceramic art products, we formulated the following proceedings and issues which should observed by the artists and related organizations participating in the activities so as to ensure both party's rights and interests:
I. Time, place, and items of the activities Time: From June 9th 2007 to June 22nd 2007 (considering the specificity of the International Ceramic Artists Creating Camp, artists participating in the creating camp should properly manage to reach Foshan on time. Please notify the organization committee: zhwezh@163.com of your participation in written form so that they can arrange your hotel and transport,pls by air tickets to Guangzhou Baiyun air port, and inform us your scheduled flight ). Address: Nanfeng Ancient Kiln, Shiwan, Foshan, Guangdong, China Activity Items: International ceramic artists creating activities in 2007 Second China Foshan International Firewood Firing Symposium 1. Rough plan: Email the rough plan of your work to be created to the organization committee, the proximate size, materials (including clay, fire and glaze), for example, Clay: pottery clay, ceramic mud, or fine clay etc; Fire: firewood kiln or gas kiln, Raku firing or salt firing; Glaze: If you have special requirements, for example, use your own special glaze formula, or do not use glaze or use local glaze etc, please notify the organization committee in advance, pretests may be needed. The organization committee needs the detailed data of the materials that will be used by each ceramic artist, so that it can support each artist to create individual and characterized artistic works. 2. Making ceramic works: Make ceramic works according to the design draft or the temporary creative idea, full express the artistic talents and styles of the artists. 3. Firing ceramic works: Select firing method according to the requirements and effects of the works within the time stipulated by the organization committee. II. Work Requirements The works created by the artists participating in the International Ceramic Creating Camp should meet the following requirements: 1. Work category: (You can select the category that you are accomplished in, indicate your work category in the rough plan). In order to support the ceramic art development of Ancient Nanfeng Kiln Museum, let's divide ceramic art works into five categories temporarily. A: Building ceramic art works (at least three sets, each set consists of 16 bricks) Function requirement: Decorating and beautify building surfaces, they may be wall, floor, indoor and outdoor tiles and bricks. Purpose: Develop “Manual tile”, people will have manually made wall or floor tiles (including fresco). B: Living ceramic art works (at least 20 sets) Function requirement: All kinds of household utensils closely related everyday life. Such as water cups, tea services, coffee cups, ashtrays, candle stands, bowls, handless small cups, basins, dishes, saucers, and fruit pots etc. Manual workmanship is stressed, may be formed by throwing, darby, or clay strips. Purpose: Change the present trend of large scale factory production, meet some tasteful consumers that require higher life quality, provide them with individualized products that combine function and art. C: Decorating ceramic art works (at least 20 sets) Function requirement: Artistic works that decorate people’s living space, especially the indoor living space, meet the aesthetic requirements of the modern people; lead the tide of decoration in people’s life. Such as all kinds of flower vases, utensils, lanterns, hanging plates, small furnishings etc. Purpose: Enrich people’s cultural life, and let decorating ceramic art works penetrate into every corner of people’s life. D: Environmental ceramic art works (at least 3 sets) Function requirement: Ceramic art works that meet the requirement of public space features. Generally they are large sized (at least 150cm) ceramic art works. In such public spacers as small gardens, hotels halls, depots, airports, offices, urban parks, living quarters etc. In addition to ceramic works, pottery sculptures and pottery pots for pools are acceptable, and 360° all round ceramic environmental art works are welcome. Purpose: Providing rich environmental art styles and more aesthetic objects to people, so that the urban public environment will be artistic and more colorful. E: Artistic ceramics (at least 5 sets) Function requirement: Stressing the uniqueness of the art works whose size does not exceed 150cm. The works should be able to represent the style and manifestation of the artist. The works are suitable for personal collection, auction, gallery exhibition and museum collection etc. Purpose: Enhancing the aesthetic sentiment and artistic taste of the people and enrich people’s artistic life. You can select one or two art forms from the above five categories to show your skill according to your strong suits, if you have enough time and interest in, you can select a third artistic form to create. 2. Work display Ancient Nanfeng Kiln Museum will classify the works and exhibit the sample of each item and category in a exhibition room which is taken as the ordering sample room. 3. Work formation The artists should participate in the whole creating and processing process of their works, including base repair, glaze test, glazing, deciding firing temperature, and help in exhibition of their works. 4. Ownership of the works The ownership of the works created and exhibited in the artist creating camp shall belong to Guangdong Shiwan Ceramic Museum. Guangdong Shiwan Ceramic Museum has the right to exhibit, publish, produce and transfer the works. The artists have the right to publish their works or leave their names on their works, but should not duplicate the works specially design and created for the museum in order to keep the works’ uniqueness and exclusiveness and protect the copyright of the museum. After you finish art work at the requested quantity, you can take away 50% quantity of the redundant art work you make, and the rest 50% will be owned by Guangdong Shiwan Ceramics Museum. 5. Work complete time: The works should be completed and fired before June 22nd. So the works can be exhibited in the “International Ceramic Artist Creating Camp Ceramic Art Work Exhibition” on June 27th. III. Obligation of Guangdong Shiwan Ceramic Museum: 1. In order to expedite arc work creation and support the artists in their creative work, the museum will dispatch one or two workers or assistants to assist the artists. 2. The museum will provide the materials, work sites, firing kilns (firewood kiln, gas kiln, Raku firing kiln) needed for making ceramic art works by the artists, and the special tools and materials should be prepared by the artists themselves. 3. The museum shall bare the following expenses: A： Board and lodging and transport expense of the invited artists during the time they creating ceramic artworks in Foshan. B. Expenses for purchasing the special materials needed by the artists in Foshan. IV. Establish good relationship between both parties through art work exhibition Guangdong Shiwan Ceramic Museum will wholeheartedly cooperate with artists from all over the world to carry forward the ceramic art culture and develop ceramic art course. It hopes to select single-hearted, studious and able ceramic artists through the international ceramic artist creating camp, as the members of “Ancient Nanfeng Kiln International Ceramic Artists Association Creating Group”. After consultation, both parties shall sign a separate friendly cooperation agreement, the museum will promote and advertise the works of the contracted artists in order to obtain the best efficiency, create more market opportunities for the international ceramic artists, create new situations for them, and create more and better art styles in order to enrich people's living spaces. V. Please sign this document (in duplicate) if you agree with all above issues, any dissidence or dispute about the content should be solve through consultation between both parties.

2007’ The Second China Foshan International Wood Firing Conference Scheme 1.Tenet After “2000’ China Foshan International Wood Firing Conference ” ,in order to continue the Chinese local cultural activity, in this June, we will hold “2007’The Second China Foshan International Wood Firing Conference ”. The activity will be held in old town Foshan which has thousands of years history, that means it’s based on the local culture and modern civilization. Since Foshan is famous historical city, rich in ceramics manufacturing history, ceramics and culture are the life force of Foshan modern economy. This meets the requests of global economy with knowledge and culture development.
