Dear Vincennes University,
In reference to the announcement
posted on your website regarding the Faculty in
Art position, I am confident my teaching experience and practicing studio
artist skills fit well with the needs the position demands.
●I
am confident I will succeed as a team educator in your Art department in the
Ceramics, as well as the secondary teaching areas including Drawing,
Two-dimensional or Three-dimensional foundations, Art History and Art
Appreciation.
I have
taught in all the areas you mention with the exception of painting, where my
skills will require some "re-brushing" up on.
●Having a diverse arts, education, and work background, having engaged myself
with diverse groups of people through art residencies, workshops, and grant
opportunities, and being an individual with a diverse cultural background
(Mexican American), I believe what I can offer students and faculty alike will
make me an asset to your Art department.
In addition, my technical knowledge and
use of digital media will further allow me to offer students cutting-edge
approaches to problem solving and the development of various Art forms.
●Also, I have experience in online
education in developing and teaching such art courses as Introduction to Art /
Art Appreciation, Digital Photography, Drawing, and 2D/3D Art. With my knowledge
of Art, Photography and more recently HDV video/film making, I know many Art
courses could be developed successfully for online delivery; I would also welcome any
opportunities to develop this area in your program of study.
I would appreciate the opportunity to make a significant contribution to the
Vincennes Art department. I welcome the opportunity to further discuss my
candidacy. Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Anthony Ferguson, June 23, 2009
